February is a month of distraction because it’s the shortest month of the calendar year and was designated to Highlight Black history although, (Valentines Day, Presidents Day, Groundhogs Day, and this year Chinese New Year) is included in Black History Month.  As Black People we celebrate Black history 365 days a year because through the traditional educational system our children are taught false truths aka lies about the Black experience in the United States.  The purpose of Black history month is to focus on the accomplishments of  Black People, it should be a month of gaining, learning, adapting to the history of the Black experience in the United States. The original name of the Continent of Africa based on history was Alkebulan, another thing taken from Black People.  Understanding how and why as Black People we are still struggling to break the mindset of the Slave is a hard pill to swollow.   When we were stolen from the Continent of Africa and brought to this country unwilling as Doctors, Teachers, Scientists, Chemists, Farmers, Religious leaders and the list goes on, most importantly as a Village of families that love, care, nurtured and provided for each other.  Based on the Willie Lynch Letter the making of a Slave,  Our family structure was broken in the same manner in which they broke wild horses and separated mothers, fathers and children as a way of mind control.  Our Black Men were stripped of their manhood in many ways as a scare tactic to control them.   We were tortured into submission in order to leave all knowledge that we  brought with us from the Continent of Africa with the exception of our skills to build and assist the United States to prosper financially.  The Black family was stripped of our religion, families were broken through torture, sex and the Christian religion.  The Willie Lynch Letter and the making of a Slave easily points out how and why as a people we are still struggling to get past this state of mind. 

The Willie Lynch Letter and The Making of a slave is  a speech delivered by Willie Lynch to an audience on the bank of the James River in Virginia in 1712 regarding control of slaves within the colony.  The speaker,  William Lynch , is said to have been a slave owner in the West Indies and was summoned to Virginia in 1712; in part due to several slave revolts in the area prior to his visit, and more so because of his reputation of being an authoritarian and strict slave master.  The Willie Lynch Letter is an account of a short speech given by Willie Lynch, in which he tells other slave owners that he has discovered a “secret” to controlling enslaved Africans by setting then against one another.
