It Couldn’t be Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could not be me! You let him/her do what?  You deserve better! Leave him or her! It sounds like someone is cheating! You sound dumb for going for that!  I told you so?  Just a few of the Inappropriate and discouraging things that we tend to say to someone when they come to us to vent when in a crisis.  It's usually not done on purpose or to be mean, but most likely we know what we are saying when we say it.  However its likely the one saying all the discouraging things is probably or have already done all the things we claim we would never.  It’s definitely unacceptable and we must find listening supportive ears and words of encouragement when these events occur.  For the person dealing with life's ups and downs juggling interpersonal relationships (spouse, family, friends) it’s okay that things are not going how you planned.  Communication is key, often hard conversations are just that hard conversations.  Everything is not for everyone so be mindful when sharing personal information, for me, I tend to share openly but take my own advice because people will give out advice and do the opposite.  Work on yourself and do all the things that make you happy.  One thing for sure and two things for definite once you express your likes or dislikes its up to you to accept or reject things moving forward.   What are your deal breakers, not your peep’s opinions?  To know better is to do better.  No fingers pointed just self-examination and practicing being a listening ear and not judgemental.   Talk therapy works, It can be done in person or through teletherapy.  I’ve been guilty of the above and I’ve also learned to be a better listener, my life experiences are not yours, look in the mirror and ask your self if your being honest with yourself, and the list goes on.

Please take a minute and leave a comment, let us know how you handle these situations ….be honest ***** judgment-free zone******* Each one teaches one.
