High Blood pressure is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. Usually hypertension is defined as blood pressure above 140/90, and is considered severe if the pressure is above 180/20. High Bloop pressure is very common. Common factors that can lead to blood pressure include: A diet high in salt, fat, and / or cholesterol. Chronic conditions such as kidney and hormone problems, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Family history, especially if your parents or other close relatives have high blood pressure. I have had High Blood Pressure for over 25 years, in 2003 I started a medication regimen. Ive struggled with many thing, getting my doc to listen to me when although I was on medication my numbers were still high. I went as far as telling his nurse that he isn’t listening to me because i’m fat and black and the health care system gives zero cents about a black persons concerns. As a result he called me back in the office and changed my medications. I Changed my doctor because I had had this conversation with him several times and his response was my numbers are consistent. Are you able to advocate for yourself? If not, how do you get heard? please share some experiences in an effort to help me and others.
