Self-Care

Self-Care

There are a number of definitions for self-care, the bottom line is that self-care is what people do for themself to establish and maintain health, and deal with illness.  This definition is a broad concept that includes hygiene, healthy eating, lifestyle, surroundings, and socioeconomic factors.   taking care of oneself physically and emotionally.  Below is a list of seven areas included in self-care, for me, I struggle to take care of all areas at the same time…but I’m working on it.

  1.  Knowledg & Health literacy

  2.  Mental wellbeing

  3. Physical activity

  4. Healthy Eating

  5. Risk avoidance

  6. Good Hygiene

  7. Rational use of products and services

Please let me know what are some of the things you do that include Self-Care in your lifestyle, We are often caught up in working and maintaining a household as adults that we neglet ourselves.   Over the last almost 9 years I’ve had my attention on knowledge & health literacy with a side of Mental Well-being, recently I’ve added physical activity(the last year) and healthy eating(always struggling, junk food junkie). Risk avoidance, Good Hygiene, and Rational use of products and services have always been a part of me as an adult, or at least I think it was..  Please don’t hesitate to share because it can be beneficial to someone struggling.
