Are you a Good Mother ?

Well, let me tell you, everyone has an opinion on what good looks like.  As for me, I stand on  by myself as a Mother, was I perfect no, Am I perfect now, no.  As a Mother my journey began at the age of 17.  I have four children, adults that take care of themselves without assistance from me.  So one would say I’m a good mother.  My children are all High School graduates, and I prided myself on my parenting skills.  Yes, I lacked Communication at times, was not well-informed, and was not the most affectioned person….I’m sure the list goes on.  Some might say those are the things that make a Good Mother and Some might say that was not good enough.  As for me keeping them safe, fed, and educated was my goal.  We can all do better as Humans however when it comes to being a Mother there is not one right or wrong way to parenting/mothering. Many things come into play when raising children and we must all understand that love is not enough.   When we know better we do better.  Every life event is a learning experience, I take the lesson out of everything good or bad, the lesson is often the most important part as a parent.   As long as you put your best foot forward and Stand By Yourself as a mom, be open to learning daily, and grow hard skin because the most prominent critics will be your children.
