Understanding My Thanksgiving 11/25/21

Thanksgiving is the name given to today, but the majority of Black people refuse to celebrate the torture and murder of their brothers and sisters. Instead, we decided to turn this into a day that families get together to celebrate love, life, and family.

Holidays bring out all kinds of feelings and not just feelings of happiness.  Often holidays bring out the best and worst in people.  If possible take the time to be thankful for the things you have not what you don’t have.  The fact that you are here today to talk about it….Is a blessing. We are in the middle of a pandemic and we are doing our best to survive, although many loved ones have been lost over the last two years, we are still here. This time should not be used to think about what we don’t have but it’s a must that we are thankful for today.  For so many this is the only time of the year they have to spend time with loved ones, so make sure you do what you can to make the time spent with them worth it.  Love those that love you and don’t worry about anything else.  If apologies are needed don’t wait until the person is no longer here to say how sorry you are. The way you make someone feel when they are alive will be something that lives with you forever.  Praying that each and every one of you has a blessed family day filled with love, laughter, and plenty of hugs.

Happy Family Day
